Volunteers

Thank you for considering Blanchet House & Farm as a volunteer opportunity in Portland. To sign up to volunteer, (1) read the online handbook; (2) schedule shifts in Volunteer Local.

Compassionate individuals age 14 and older are needed to:

  • Serve meals and drinks in the cafe. (M-Sat)
  • Sort clothing, prep produce, or pack care kits.
  • Be a guest chef. (Must have food handlers card.)
  • Help out at Blanchet Farm.

Please note: COVID vaccinations and masks are required to volunteer on-site.

COVID-19 Safety Information: Volunteer in Portland

We have safety measures in place to protect our guests from COVID. We strive to provide a safe and supportive environment for everyone including volunteers. For this reason, we ask you to help us by doing the following:

VACCINATIONS Presently volunteers must provide proof of vaccination.
MASKS Everyone is required to wear a mask. As a result, please bring your own.

UPDATE: Volunteer opportunities are currently on hold while we undergo reconstruction of the farm facilities.

Help tend the flower and vegetable gardens, walk the goats (yes, really), paint the barn, pick and jar fruit, or assist with caring for the animals.

Giving back is good for your employees, your business, and significantly for your community! Blanchet House workplace giving programs are designed to bring people together. Plus, they provide aid and hope for our neighbors in need. You can choose to volunteer in Portland or find activities for your team to do off-site.

Volunteer From Home

In addition to volunteering, there are many ways you can help people experiencing homelessness now. For example, you can volunteer to make hygiene care kits, sign up to make sack lunches, or donate needed clothing today. Plus, you can donate needed funding.
