Rick German is the case manager and intake coordinator at Blanchet Farm in Yamhill County. Rick moved to Oregon from the East Coast in 2005 to start a new sober life. He’s worked in the recovery field for more than 17 years and holds the following credentials.

  • CADCI – Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor
  • CGACII – Certified Gambling Addictions Counselor
  • CGRM – Certified Gambling Recovery Mentor
  • CRM – Certified Recovery Mentor
  • PSS – Peer Support Specialist

In his free time, Rick serves as a volunteer chaplain with the Home for Good Oregon program which is part of the Oregon Department of Corrections. He serves on the board of directors of Free on the Outside, an adults-only transitional housing program and church serving people recently released from prison.

“I was on a tour of Blanchet Farm seven years ago and had the distinct pleasure of witnessing one of the pigs give birth. There were about a dozen men on their knees in the mud around this amazing event,” Rick shared. “Tears are running down my cheeks as I type this. I knew right then that it was my destiny to be part of this team. Now that I am, I consider it truly a blessing and an outstanding opportunity to be able to help these men grow past the trauma that keeps them stuck.”

Rick has three grown children and is a proud grandfather to five. He loves to ride his motorcycle and can occasionally be found behind the wheel of a 1972, 9-second Nova at the dragstrip.
