4 Ways to Take Action

Blanchet House is bringing Hunger Action Month to Portland, a nationwide campaign designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of hunger in the United States. Inflation and rising food costs are causing more people to go without hot meals, and our community relies on Blanchet House’s free cafe to fill the gaps. We’re mobilizing the community to take action and help end hunger for good.

About Hunger Action Month

Feeding America‘s annual nationwide campaign is designed to inspire people to take action and raise awareness of hunger in the United States. It’s hard to believe, but for millions of people in America, a daily meal is difficult to acquire for so many reasons. By taking action, together we can relieve suffering and hunger one plate at a time.

Blanchet House has four ways for people to take action this month.

  1. Sign up to volunteer to serve meals in Blanchet House’s free cafe.
  2. Sponsor meals for someone experiencing homelessness or poverty.
  3. Sign up to make sack lunches that will be handed out for people to take.
  4. Make care kits containing snacks and the most requested hygiene items.
