The woodshop at Blanchet Farm offers a place to create, learn, and heal.

Participants in the farm’s addiction recovery program have the opportunity to explore the craft of woodworking from professional volunteers. For many participants, crafting in the woodshop is therapeutic. Woodworking helps to reduce stress, improve focus and concentration, boost self-confidence, and provide a sense of accomplishment.

The woodshop is meant to be a place of learning and healing rather than a factory for producing saleable goods, though we do offer a limited selection of products for sale.

“Some of these guys didn’t know they had an artistic side until they got in the woodshop.”

– Ross Sears, Farm Manager

Wood Stools

The stools used by diners visiting Blanchet House’s cafe are built in the woodshop. The unique backless easy-to-move design was inspired by a cow milking stool.
