Maggie Cornish, MSW, is a social worker and Oregonian raised less than 20 miles from Blanchet Farm. Maggie believes in leading with curiosity, uplifting the dignity and worth of each person, and taking a strengths-based approach that supports everyone’s right to self-determination. Maggie has spent time living in both Japan as an exchange student, where she engaged with the disability community, and northern Nevada, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in behavioral neuroscience while participating in the SAFE Project’s Collegiate Recovery Leadership Academy. She completed her Master of Social Work degree with a focus on mental health and trauma through the University of Denver’s online program in 2024. Now that she has graduated, Maggie enjoys spending her free time watching movies, playing with her puppy, Otis, and spending time with her family.

Otis, Case Manager Assistant, is a Bull Terrier mix puppy that came to join Maggie and her husband in December 2024 when he was about 10 weeks old. Otis was rescued by the staff at Blanchet House in Old Town Portland and travels to work with Maggie at Blanchet Farm. Otis is still learning his manners, but has been a great addition to the farm, and sometimes the men at the Farm come to talk with Otis in HIS office before they even say hi to Maggie. Otis hopes that he can get to run free on the farm when his manners improve!
