About Scott Kerman

Scott Kerman is the Executive Director of Blanchet House, a nonprofit organization based in Portland, OR, dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty. With a background in leadership, social justice advocacy, and trauma-informed care, Scott has been instrumental in advancing Blanchet House’s mission of offering shelter, meals, and dignity to those in need. Scott is a passionate public speaker who addresses critical issues like housing insecurity, homelessness, and compassionate community support. He uses his extensive experience to inspire positive change, awareness, and is committed to building stronger, more inclusive communities through direct service and advocacy.

In addition to his experience leading Blanchet House, Scott also brings to his presentations his background as a criminal defense attorney, his twenty years in education as a classroom teacher and school leader, and even his experience with multiple sclerosis and leading with a disability.
