Residential Program & Facilities Manager
Jeffrey McDaniel is the Residential Program and Facilities Manager at Blanchet House in downtown Portland. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Jeffrey has now lived in nine states always working in the hospitality and culinary industry, both in front and back of house management. He knows first hand the struggles and pitfalls that go along with working in the restaurant industry. Jeffrey’s battle with substance abuse has plagued him throughout his life. He moved to Portland in 2014, having several years of sobriety, only to relapse. This is when he first entered the doors of the Blanchet House of Hospitality as a residential guest benefiting from the safe and supportive program. He diligently worked the program, eventually finding work in a fine dining restaurant while taking classes at Portland Community College to earn become a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC I). Jeffrey’s lived and learned experience makes him uniquely qualified to mentor and support the members of Blanchet House’s Residential Program.
