Chad Seelye, an Oregon and Washington native, moved to Portland in 2020. After battling drugs and alcohol, he’s pleased to be of service at the Blanchet House as the Program Services Assistant. He’s glad to be “on this side of the fence” to help on the front lines in Old Town.
In his free time, Chad enjoys long-distance and short-distance runs with friends. He also likes hiking and anything outdoors, spending quality time with friends and family, and a good adventure.
“The spirit of friendship is very important to me and also showing others love and compassion, having been homeless and addicted in my earlier years. This road that I am on in recovery is a hard one, but like anything in life, the best things are,” he says. “I am thankful for this opportunity to serve the greater community and be part of a work family that shares the same goals and aspirations that I value. I look forward to serving.”
