Blanchet’s On the Ledge Art Show Shines Light on Artists From All Walks of Life
Blanchet House’s annual On the Ledge art show is back, bringing together local artists, supporters, and members of the Blanchet House community through creativity and a shared desire to make a difference.
This year, 117 artists submitted work for consideration, with 25 artists selected for the show. Inspired by the theme Open Doors, Open Hearts, the collection includes original paintings, photography, and mixed media work.
The opening reception was held July 30 at Laurelhurst Club, where more than 250 people gathered to meet the artists, see their work, and celebrate the community. It was our most successful On the Ledge opening reception to date.
The art show continues online until August 31. Original artwork, prints, puzzles, and greeting cards are available for purchase at bhontheledge.com, with proceeds supporting participating artists and Blanchet House’s mission to serve people experiencing homelessness, hunger, and addiction.

On the Ledge Gives Hidden Voices a Place to Shine
The show also features artwork by Blanchet House guests, bringing the voices and creative work of people who have experienced our services into the exhibition.
Jorge holds his piece Kisses, which is available as a greeting card in the 2026 On the Ledge art show.
Among them is Blanchet House residential program participant Jorge, whose artwork Kisses depicts colorful butterflies representing his journey through addiction, loneliness, depression, and transformation.
“The butterflies represent my story and my transformation,” Jorge shared. “Each one symbolizes the difficult stages I went through: addiction, loneliness, depression, and the moments when I felt there was no hope. But, like a butterfly, I went through a process of change.”
Jorge’s original artwork sold at the opening reception, but Kisses is available as a greeting card throughout August.
Artwork from the On the Ledge art show is now available as puzzles! This puzzle features Duck Duck Dog a painting by local artist Eric Gendron. Every purchase supports both the artist and Blanchet House. Shop the gallery at the link in the comments.

On the Ledge is produced by Blanchet’s Emerging Leaders Board, a group of community-minded professionals who volunteer their time and talents.
